The good stuff

What really clicked was how smooth the integration felt. It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel - it just adds geolocation to existing listings. I added a few test posts with coordinates, and boom, users could filter by distance from their current location. The map view loads fast, and the UI is clean enough that even non-techy users figured it out without help. Compared to ACF: Yandex Maps Field, which is more complex and needs custom coding, this is way simpler if you’re already using HivePress. It also handles radius-based searches well - say you want to show all nearby bike rentals within 5 miles. That just worked. No tweaking, no headaches.

The not-so-good

It’s not perfect. The map rendering is basic - no custom markers, no street view, nothing fancy. If you’re building something like a high-end travel portal, you’ll probably want more visual polish. Also, there’s no built-in geocoding. You have to manually input lat/long or use another plugin to auto-geocode addresses. And honestly? The lack of a developer name or clear license info makes me pause. Not a dealbreaker, but it’s weird for a tool that’s supposed to be stable. If you’re managing a big site with tight security standards, this might not feel trustworthy. Plus, only one person has rated it so far - hard to judge long-term reliability.

Bottom line

If you’re running a small-to-midsize travel or local services site on WordPress with HivePress, and you need location filtering, this is worth a try. It’s free, lightweight, and does exactly what it promises. But don’t expect bells and whistles. Skip it if you need advanced maps or don’t trust plugins with no clear ownership. For most people, though, it’s a solid fix for a common problem.
