Bluey: The Videogame for Nintendo Switch

So I was scrolling through free games on Windows and saw this Bluey thing pop up - honestly, didn’t expect much. But my kid has been obsessed with the show for months, and she kept asking to “play Bluey.” This was the closest thing that wasn’t just a cartoon streaming app. So I downloaded it out of curiosity and ended up playing through all four mini-adventures in one sitting. Turns out, it’s not bad at all for what it is.

The good stuff

The game nails the vibe of the show. Walking through the Heeler house feels like stepping into an episode - same layout, same colors, even the fridge has that weird sticker on it. And the mini-games? They’re spot-on. Keepy Uppy is basically just bouncing a ball on your head until it explodes (in a fun way), and Chattermax Chase had me laughing because it’s so silly. The bonus beach level is a nice touch too - not long, but it gives you a little extra content without feeling tacked on. It’s not deep or complex, but it’s got heart. You can tell someone actually cared about capturing the spirit of Bluey.

The not-so-good

It’s short. Like, really short. All four adventures took me about 45 minutes total. After that, there’s nothing left. No replay value, no unlockables, no hidden levels. And the controls are… fine, but not great. It’s not a full platformer or anything, so you don’t need precision, but it’s a bit clunky when jumping between platforms. Also, the lack of any real challenge might be a turnoff for older kids or adults. If you’re looking for something meaty, this isn’t it. And yeah, it’s labeled as “for Nintendo Switch” but runs on Windows - doesn’t change the gameplay, but the naming is confusing. Might want to check that before downloading.

Bottom line

If you’ve got a kid who loves Bluey and you’re bored one rainy afternoon, this free game is a harmless way to pass time.
